Park City mountain biking is possibly the best on the planet. There are so many great places to go and explore the beauty of the valley and the mountains that surround it. Whether you’re a novice or a hard-core mountain biking enthusiast, you can find the perfect trail to ride right here in Park City. Singletrack mountain biking is the name of the game in Park City. While some trails connect with older mining roads, you will mostly find single track, with the odd double-track trail through the Douglas Fir and Aspen trees.

Beginner bike experiences begin in Park City. For those looking for a great biking adventure, check out the Historic Rail Trail. This thirteen mile trail, which goes between Park City and Wanship, is an easy bike ride, perfect for families or for a laid-back bike ride. Beaver Creek Trail is another easy trail along the western part of the Uinta Mountains. If you just want to practice your mountain biking skills or simply get familiar with your new bike, check out McHenry’s Practice Loop. For those who want the pleasant fresh air without all the dirt, check out the paved Lake Side Trails which travel around the lakes near the Snow Park.

More experienced riders can take a ride on some of the other great Park City mountain biking trails such as the Glenwild or the High Meadow Loop. Some of these require lift-service to get you to the top. For a challenging route with a great view try Naildriver , Tombstone, Soap Stone Basin, the Wasatch Crest Ridge Connector and the Super G Trees trails.

Extreme mountain biking enthusiasts and those wanting a hard-core experience may want to try any of the extreme or difficult trails throughout the Park City area. There’s Holly’s Downhill, Homeward Bound’s freestyle fun, the Mid-Mountain Trail, Shadow Lake, Shingle Creek and Tour Des Suds. If you use the PayDay Lift, you can go down either the Steps Trail or the Sweeney Switchbacks.

The Park City Mountain Foundation publishes a guide to the walking and biking trails that you can easily explore. If you want a guide, or someone to make sure that you navigate the sometimes tough terrain, there are a few great guide services to check out.
