Snow Tubing in Park City

HomeActivitiesSnow Tubing in Park City

Park City is an all-seasons city, providing entertainment and fun all year round, but even as your summer, spring, and fall adventures will be exciting, it is the winter ones that may capture your heart. The mountains come alive with the very first snowfall, providing excitement through the final melt, and believe it or not, that excitement doesn’t always come from ski adventures. Ice skating, snowboarding, and sledding are all very popular winter sports in Park City, but it’s snow tubing that may be what makes the tiniest travelers jump with joy! If you haven’t tried it before or are just looking for something different to do during your upcoming winter journey to Utah, we at Park City Hotels have created this guide to snow tubing in Park City that will keep your vacation exciting, just as coming home to our seasonal sanctuaries will ensure it is comfortable and luxurious as well.

Woodward Park City

You may be asking yourself, what exactly is snow tubing? The answer is simple. It’s another way to enjoy a snow-covered slope, albeit safely and under the watchful eyes of not just parents but the attendants who run the show! Woodward Park City, located at 3863 Kilby Road, is where most snow tubing adventures will take place, offering seven lanes dug into the snow, lanes that are the longest in the state of Utah. You can ride down the lane solo on the tubes provided or you can connect with your friends and family and twirl your way to the bottom for an exciting snowy adventure!

There are conveyor lifts that help participants get to the top with a minimum of effort, and although the younger set—those under the age of 6—must stay on the lower two lanes, everyone else can go all the way to the top, sliding down 1200 feet of lanes! Each session you purchase lasts for two hours, and your goal is to tube down as many times as you can in those 120 minutes of time. Are you up to the challenge? Tickets can be purchased in advance online at the Woodward Park City website, or you can purchase them onsite at the resort. Ski pants and coats as well as hats and gloves are recommended!

After the Adventures of Snow Tubing in Park City

Even with warm, waterproof clothing, and the conveyor lifts, you are still going to be wet, chilled, and exhausted at the end of your session, making your return home to Park City Hotels the highlight of your day. Reserve your favorite Park City condo rentals today!

FAQs About Snow Tubing in Park City

  • My children aren’t willing to try to learn to ski, is there another snow activity we can try?

Not everyone is a thrill seeker, and if your kiddos aren’t anxious to try skiing, it’s ok, we have a sport we know they will love instead. Snow tubing, similar to sledding, involves snow, hills, and all the fun that can happen when you combine both.

  • What is the difference between sledding and snow tubing?

The main difference is the “vehicle” that gets you from the top of the hill to the bottom. Snow tubing uses inner tubes, similar to what you may find at a water park for their slides. Lighter weight and more aerodynamic, snow tubing is often faster than sledding, meaning more fun and excitement.

  • Where can I snow tube in Park City?

If you have your own tube and find a hill out in the countryside, we invite you to give it a try, but the best place we know for snow tubing is Woodward Park City, located at 3863 Kilby Road. Offering groomed trails and open for tubing snowboarding, and a variety of other outdoor activities, guaranteed to fill a few of your vacation hours with fun and excitement.
