But where do you go when the sun goes down. The Park City Nightlife offers some interesting options. It has been reported that even in the 1800s this town jumped with more than 20 saloons. Today the options continue.
There are still saloons for those looking more for suds than slick and shiny. The saloon heritage is a well-honored part of the local culture. In the mining days, the saloon was the center of the community. There are a number of nightlife options in Park City for those who want to lift a glass to honor this piece of Americana. The perfect ending for a long day on the slopes might just be throwing back a few at a place that has been serving shots and beer in the same tradition for ages. Consider the No Name Saloon, which proclaims it has been helping people forget their name since 1903. This is a reported locals hangout and can pack ‘em in pretty fast, so regulars recommend getting there early if you actually want to sit down. Celebrity sightings have also been reported here.
The High West Distillery and Saloon takes both the whisky distilling and the saloon culture seriously but do it in a place devoted to the cocktail. Whiskey lasted libations are the highlight at High West. Ski in to the bar and park your skis in the rack outside the door before touring the distillery and pursuing the drink menu. They reported make a mean meal as well from a gastro-pub menu.
Other Saloon handled night spots include the Appaloosa Saloon, Phat Tire Saloon, and the Green Street Social Club and Port of Call Social Club also nod to the history of this former mining town.
For the beer lover there are Brew Pubs for finding just the right blend of hops and suds. Brew Pubs have only been legal in the Utah city since 1988, one of the originals was the Wasatch Brewery. Currently offering a dozen on tap offerings including an alcohol free Root Beer, the Wasatch takes pride in its brewing history. They compete often with the Squatter’s Pub Brewery which has a local option in Park City called Squatter’s Roadhouse Grill. Squatter’s is a frequent gold medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival. Other contenders in the brewery segment in Park City include Shades of Pale Brewery and Red Rock Junction Brew Pub.
In addition to saloons and breweries, restaurants and nightclubs offer great diversions. There are comedy and music concert options for those looking for entertainment over libation. This bustling resort town offers a great nightlife to either ski into or meander into from the historic main street area of Park City.
