Things to Do in Park City
Utah Olympic Park
Built for the 2002 Winter Olympic games, Utah Olympic Park is aptly located on Olympic Parkway. The center played host to events like bobsledding, luge, skeleton, ski jumping, and Nordic combined events. The facility isn’t just a tourist attraction. Current U.S. Olympic athletes still use the facilities to train for upcoming competitions. Don’t miss the two museums on the property: the Alf Engen Ski Museum – a museum full of the legendary skier’s memorabilia, and the George Eccles Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum where you can see Olympic medals, video clips, and athletic equipment used during the games.
All Seasons Adventures
No matter what outdoor activity you’re interested in, check out All Seasons Adventures. Summer adventures include kayaking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and more. Winter adventures include dogsledding, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Outings can last as little as one hour to as long as eight hours, depending on the activity.
Escape Room Park City
If you have a little time to after your half-day or three-quarter day experience in Park City, take an hour or so and try to escape. Escape rooms are a popular past time in recent years, and Park City has one they call their own. You can choose from four different themed rooms. Each experience is 70 minutes long. They have rooms appropriate for kids, teens, and adults.
Alpine Coaster & Slide
Located at Park City Mountain, it’s the state’s longest mountain coaster and winds through over a mile of loops and curves at speeds of up to 25 miles per hour. Rather than the inside of a theme park, you’ll see the beautiful mountain scenery of Park City. The slide is one of the longest in the world, featuring a 3,000-foot luge-like track. These attractions are only open from late June to early September, so make sure they’re in service. Passengers must be at least 38” tall.
Historic Park City
Not many cities in the U.S. can say they are their own tourist attraction! When it comes to Park City, the city itself is a sight to see. Founded in 1869, many of the city’s historic buildings are still standing. The Historic Park City area and its buildings is a testament to and preserves the city’s western mining (silver) heritage while housing modern boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. The Park City Museum on Main Street features exhibits of the city’s mining town roots all the way to its evolution into one of the top ski destinations in the U.S.
